Book cover mockup, free and online
Put your cover on a real book in a minute: no template, no account, no watermark on the export.
Free to start. No signup to try. Nothing stamped on your exports.

What the book cover mockup does
A cover on its own is a rectangle. On a book it becomes a thing people want to hold, which is why every launch post, newsletter and author page uses a mockup rather than the flat file.
DudeCovers is the quickest way from one to the other. Drop in your cover, front only or the full wrap, and it goes onto a 3D book at its real trim size. Change the backdrop, turn the book a little, export. Free, with no account and nothing stamped on your picture.
No cover yet? The studio has a sample book, so you can see how it works before your designer sends the files. And when the cover changes, drop in the new version: the book, the angle and the backdrop stay as you left them.
Straight on, or in a room

No AI
Your cover isn't sent anywhere to be redrawn. The book is a 3D model built from your own file.
Straight answers.
- What size should my cover file be?
- Anything around 1600 pixels tall or more looks sharp. Print files (300 dpi) are ideal. Very large images are scaled down in your browser to 4096 pixels on the long side.
- Can I use it for an ebook cover?
- Yes. An ebook cover is a front cover, so it goes on the book as is. Many authors show the ebook as a paperback in their posts.
- Where do my files go?
- Nowhere. The cover stays in your browser and the picture is made on your own computer.
- Is it free?
- Yes, to start, with no account and no watermark: the 3D paperback and hardback, turned up to 45° either way, exported at up to twice the size. Pro adds the full turn to the back, the dust jacket, read and well loved copies, the scenes and three times the size. You can try every Pro option on the canvas first; the export then carries a small preview tape.
